Opening fits with genre
The genre of our film is Drama, they types of film focus on situations that people can relate to, an example of this could be a teenager commiting a crime and facing up to the consequences, what Drama films do brilliantly is capture activities happening in our society, Adulthood focuses on youth crime which is a major problem in the UK today. Our film fits perfectly into the genre as it shows the life of some teenagers in todays society and the conflict they have.

Films that gave us inspiration

These three films gave us a lot of inspiration for our story, especially kidulthood and adulthood, these films can be seen as violent dramas/thrillers, each has an antagonist which we took ideas on how he dressed and the way he acted, with this in mind we put it in practice and hopefully it will be believable in our opening sequence.
Ideas from films
We got a few ideas from a wide array of movies, we chose to use adulthood because it ties in with our opening sequence, it can definitely be seen as the same genre, another reason we choose this film for our inspiration is because we have all seen it and it was easy to talk about the movie within our group, the film is written and directed by Noel clarke, he's well known for his roles of the antagonist, by seeing Noel clarke in adulthood it helped us on our acting, we want it to be believable for the audience and we feel that we've succeeded in this.as you can see in the picture above it's clear Noel is the antagonist.

The story
Our story involves a teenager that goes by the name of Curtis, he's a good person at heart but he's been brought up in the wrong environment which is the common problem in today's society, we wanted to use this as the basis of our story, the antagonist is also a teenager that goes by the name of Jay, he is doing the dirty work of his boss who has a vendetta with Curtis, Curtis travels to a local park to escape his troubles and to find peace, but without him noticing Jay is there waiting for him, it doesn't look too good for Curtis at this point, Jay approaches him, they have a moment of conversation and all of a sudden Jay strikes at Curtis, leaving him in pain, Curtis gets pushed onto the ground and the last thing he sees is the strike of a blunt object to his face.
Planning (location)
We brainstormed different ideas for our location, we decided to do it in New Malden as it's practical and we could commit to it, we came across an elusive park that would be great as it ties in with our story, below is a list of different ideas:
- Car park
- Around the high-street
- In school
- Bus
These where all good ideas but we all agreed on filming in a park, we did encounter a few problems while filming in this location, one being people of the public entering the park so we couldn't film, so we had to come at a reasonable time where people are at work and children at school, and we had to film in one day as the weather keeps on changing and we want it to be perfect.
Treatment/Pitch
Our final storyboard was finished and we had to deal with some issues as we tried to implement some music we were only allowed to use not copyrighted music we also had to know who our target audience is which are mainly boys in the age of 15+. It was quite easy to change the storyboard to make it suitable for the audience. At least we didn't need to change many things and were able to keep the work like it was before.
Evidence of initial group discussions and idea choice
We brainstormed ideas for our storyboard and came up with some ideas. Our first idea involves a crime with a character who's taking illegal substances and getting into trouble with it. As we were making the storyboard we started to realize that the idea could be hard to commit the story as we didn't have the right location and props. The second storyboard involves a girl who's active on the internet and gets to know a random person which she would like to meet but her religion prohibits this and she is not aware of the danger, the only problem we had in this case is that we didn't have the right actors as we needed a girl in our group. Finally we came up with a new idea which involves a person who's sitting in a park and smoking somethin which could be a cigarette, mariuhana or any other legal or illeagal substance. Everyone in the group was happy with the idea and a location was found quickly. The characters for the film are Jay and Curtis. When we tried to film this project we had some issues with the location as we were not allowed to used it and also some shots were just able to shoot with the permission of other people, so we took the same story and just changed it a slightly bit. We choose a new location and different characters in the sequence. After we were looking at our location we decided that this is definitely going to be the place where the film gets shot.
K double D members
Welcome to K-Double D Productions,We have 3 members in our group and even with this small group we work well together, we share ideas in the group and this is effective in finding out what's best to go into our story, we each have a different view on different shots and angles making our production successful, we each have key roles within the group, Danny G is the character Curtis, Daniel S is the character Jay and Kiran is the camera man, we all had a go at filming so we can develop our skills.
